To coincide with his exhibition Enthusiasm, Patrick Ward will present a series of extracts and sequences from Hollywood movies, artist films and YouTube clips including lip-synced cabaret, muted power-ballads, automated religious song and extreme weather fetishes. He will be joined in conversation with Professor John Mowitt to discuss particular configurations of sound and image, audience and artist.
Practice-led PhD Candidate in the School of Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies at the University of Leeds, Patrick Ward (b.1977 Sheffield) is a graduate of The Slade School of Fine Art, University College London (MFA) and The School of Cultural Studies, Sheffield Hallam University (BA). He is an associate lecturer at University of The Arts London where he convenes the Moving- Image Research Group based at Camberwell College of Arts. His works have been shown at Skol, Montreal; Museum of Modern Art Ljubljana; Shift Festival of Electronic Arts, Basel; ACC Gallery, Weimar and Site Gallery Sheffield.
