‘What a time to be alive’ is a collection of artworks exploring internet memes.
Memes have rapidly evolved from being simple in-jokes into an odd, complex, and creative form of online communication. The work in the exhibition investigates the purpose, content, and aesthetic of internet memes.
Tom Poultney works across a range of media investigating memes and internet communications. Tom is currently studying a practice based PhD within the School of Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies.
