The School of Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies is pleased to invite applications for up to eight White Rose College of the Arts & Humanities (WRoCAH) AHRC Studentships for PhD study (subject to award by WRoCAH) beginning in the academic year 2018/19.

Proposals will be considered from eligible candidates with research projects that relate to staff specialisms in the School. Please see the full range of staff research interests on our web site.

The White Rose College of the Arts & Humanities (WRoCAH) is a Doctoral Training Partnership between the Universities of Leeds, Sheffield and York. Doctoral researchers with the WRoCAH develop their employability skills with a cohort, learning and networking with each other in a unique and tailored training programme. The strength of Arts and Humanities research across the White Rose Consortium gives doctoral researchers an unparalleled opportunity to realise their career aspirations within and outside academia.

Before applying for a WRoCAH AHRC Studentship to study at the School of Fine Art, History of Art and Cultural Studies, you must have submitted a research degree application form to the University of Leeds.

Your application to the University should ideally be submitted by the end of December 2017 so that it can be considered with enough time before the WRoCAH AHRC studentship scheme deadline. Applicants will be expected to hold a minimum of a UK 2:1 honours degree at undergraduate level, or equivalent.

Please note that WRoCAH AHRC Studentships are only available to students from the UK or European Union. Successful applicants will receive payment to cover their UK/EU tuition fees at Research Council rates and, for eligible students, a maintenance grant (£14,553 in 2017/18).

The closing date for the WRoCAH studentships is 24 January 2018 (5pm GMT). Further information about the WRoCAH AHRC Studentships scheme, including an application form can be found here.
