PhD Thesis

My research addresses works by VALIE EXPORT and Elfriede Jelinek, attending to the relation of artistic labour to the body in literature, and to what has come to be called “body art”; new technologies in art that breaks with Modernism and philosophical conceptions of artistic labour highlighted by these works. This research also examines the role of the “body” in the theoretical work of Walter Benjamin and Theodor Adorno among others.
